Get Busy!
We have three categories from which you can choose: Creative Writing, Collaborative Photobooks, and Games. We will be rolling out new categories and features over the coming months to enhance the experience.
Getting started has four key steps:
To get started, click the "Get Busy" tab at the top of every page or click this link and choose one of the three categories: Creative Writing, Collaborative Photobooks, and Games. If you want to see some specific ways that people have been having fun with VOO!, click the light bulb and check out a bunch of ideas for inspiration.
Once you choose a category or a specific idea, you participate in the chosen activity by creating or playing according to the simple instructions on the page. Summon your inner Mark Twain or Maya Angelou by writing something fierce. Summon your inner photographer by uploading a picture that will grow into a themed collection of interesting snapshots. Challenge your friends to beat your high score in one of our rad games. VOO! can be creative or competitive.
After you have kicked things off, you will be prompted to send an email invitation to some of your friends and together you see what you can create. As others join we will update you by email so you can see the progress and vote on your favorite contributions.
There is no right or wrong. Just jump in and see what happens!
When you are invited to a Story, Photobook or a Game, there are four key steps:
When you are invited, all you need to do is check out what others have done so far, do your part and invite other friends to join. It's that simple!

Currently, you need to be invited by someone to add to a Story or Photobook or to play in a Game challenge that is in progress. If you want to get involved and have not been invited, no problem - just start one of your own and invite people to join in the fun - please see above for directions pertaining to getting started.
VOO! is public and open to all - not to get all terms of service on you but please keep things PG-13 - Please don't do anything you would not want your mom to see!
You have five invitations per specific Story, Photobook or Game and can invite any five people you want.
Once you add to a Collaborative Story or Photobook you have three votes to cast for your favorite contributions (currently, voting is not active in Games challenges).
To vote, simply click the 'vote' button found next to the writing entry or photo you like. If you decide you want to change your vote, no problem, just click the 'one of my faves' link to remove the vote.
Once the last person completes their section of the Story or Photobook, we begin to tally all of the votes that have been placed. We will keep counting for 24 hours after the last participation to ensure everyone has enough time to vote.
Everyone that garners a vote will receive bonus points and if you end up at the top of the heap, we'll give you even more points. Wahoo!
Currently, the Story, Photobook or Game challenge has 10 'spots' - that means that once 10 individual contributions have been made, it's complete. Yes, a real masterpiece.
For Creative Writing and Photobooks we tally up everyone's votes to see who received the most votes and we award bonus points to you for any votes that you received. We also provide you with a link to share the final creation with any of your friends, and then we publish it into a gallery known as 'Show Off' for all to see.
For Game challenges, we take a look at the leader board, see who is at the top and we award bonus points (and then, if you happen to be at the top of the leader board, you let your friends know how you dominate).
If no one participates in a Collaborative Story, Photobook or Game challenge for a period of 48 hours, we will send a notification to everyone who has participated. The notification is to let everyone know that progress has stalled. Invite new people to join and make sure everything keeps moving towards a fantabulous completion.

A guest account is a way to sample the site without having to register. Guests are not able to start their own Stories, Photobooks or Game challenges, earn points or choose an avatar - so sign up for an account now!

Spam sucks. Sorry about that. We do not share email addresses with anyone and the only way you can receive an email from us is if someone you know asked us to email you. An avatar is your alterego on our site. In the future we will introduce new characters and provide ways for you to customize your avatar.
Every time you make a splash on VOO!, you get Points! You get 200 Points just for registering, and every time you initiate or participate in a Photobook, Story, or Riff, you will earn more Points.
You can earn extra Points if other users vote for you as top participant within a specific collaboration. The more you VOO!, and the better you VOO!, the more Points you'll earn!
You can use your Points to buy items in the virtual items store, which you can collect or give to another VOO! user as a gift.
Purchasing items is easy. Just go to the "Get More" section featured on your Profile page and browse the items. Once you find one you want, and you can afford it, click the "Buy It" link beneath the item.
Absolutely not!
"My Loot" is where all of your items accumulate, including those you've bought and the ones that have been gifted to you by another user.
Click "See More" in the "My Loot" section in your profile page to see all your items.
Yes! Just go to the "Gifts Given" section of your Profile page.
