Hula-hoop in hand she skipped across the street towards the sun. The bells of the ice cream cart rang out like nails on the chalkboard… then she
Stopped because a line of marching ants was blocking the sidewalk path. She pulled a pinch of cookie crumbs from her pocket and dropped them near the ant expressway, diverting them for her safe passage.
Which regrettably instead led them up to where the water raged down from the overflowing dog fountain.
Children had thrown their clothes aside, splashing water, tossing rainbows into the sky. She decided to stop there and hula-hoop amidst the rainbows. Then she saw a spirit lingering amongst the willows and was drawn to them.
As she approached, the willows danced in the wind and she admired their swaying. She began to dance and hula among them drawing her hands up to caress the long branches.
The branches were like needles on her skin, scratching into her uncomfortably. They made her shiver and wish for ice cream.
Suddenly she realized the warmth the willows brought her. It was snowing, but the willows warmth made her crave ice cream. The warmth of the willows told her this was forever. She dropped her bags and ventured out in the snow to find the materials to build a nest for the place she now called her home.
